Coach Alana Kinard (Coach K)
I ran both cross country and track in high school at Holy Family and college at Auburn University.
I started my coaching career volunteering at Holy Family HS as an assistant coach for both cross country and track. I completed school at Metro State and, as a part of my work study, I worked in the classroom teaching AVID classes and coaching cross country, basketball(head c team coach), and track(head distance coach) at Skyview HS. I have a degree in Secondary Teaching (English) and a minor in Sport Coaching.
As of this season (2023), I've been coaching the Jefferson Academy MS program for 8 years.
In total, I have roughly 17 years of coaching. I love interacting with the student athletes and teaching them about the sports I am so passionate about.
I look forward to a great season with your kids. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Coach David Braunlich
I was a late bloomer when it came to running. After playing football and golf in high school, and taking time off from sports in college, I needed to take my life in a healthier direction after college. What started with casual running to lose weight and gain some fitness eventually evolved into dedicated training for half and full marathons.
As my fitness and confidence improved, I trained, qualified, and ran the Boston Marathon in 2018. Since then my focus has shifted to the trails and longer distances. I have successfully completed over a dozen ultramarathons up to and including the 100 mile distance. I also have completed a number of thru-hikes, including the 2200 mile Appalachian Trail.
Aside from my exploits as an endurance athlete, I am excited to teach junior high math at Jefferson Academy. I previously taught and coached XC at Aspen View Academy in Castle Rock.
I can’t wait to share my passion for running and endurance at JA!
